Seismology at Tulane

Seismic waves are elastic waves propagating in Earth's interior. They carry valuable and often unique information about their sources, such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, as well as the media they travel through, from Earth's surface to its core. We are a group of researchers deciphering seismic records to understand how fluids, such as H2 and CO2, and molten rocks behave in Earth's interior. Our research covers a wide range of topics, from clean energy production to the evolution of tectonic plates.
